Seabass and seabream
For these species, new to aquaculture, rearing techniques that were developed in the 1970s allowed the industry to grow from the mid-1980s. The principle producing countries are Greece, Spain and France. These species are reared in the Mediterranean basin, where total production reaches 170 000 tonnes.
